20 Days Best of Uganda adventure
This is a complete safari circuit for all the travelers who want to visit Uganda. Here you will visit all the Uganda tourist sites including Bwindi, Murchison falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Jinja, Ngamba Islands and so on.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Our company driver guide will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport and will brief you shortly about your Uganda Safari. Meet and greet and later transfer to Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Ministers Village Hotel/Cassia Lodge/Imperial Royale Hotel
Day 2, Transfer to Jinja
After breakfast, you will drive to Jinja. This is the country’s past most industrialized town in Uganda. En route you will have a stopover at Bibbo village to visit the Sezibwa falls formed by the only Human born river Sezibwa. Also visit the Mabira forest and later connect to Jinja. Upon arrival, you will take a boat transfer to the exact source of River Nile. Dinner and overnight stay at Jinja Nile Resort /Hotel Triangle/ Nile River Explorers campsite (FB)
Day 3, Full day White Water Rafting in Jinja
After breakfast, you will go for the full day white water rafting on the world high grade rapids of River Nile. This is the 2nd longest River ion the whole world. You will have picnic lunch and return back to Jinja after the raft in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Jinja Nile Resort /Hotel Triangle/ Nile River Explorers campsite (FB)
Day 4, Transfer to Mt. Elgon
After breakfast, you will transfer to Mountain Elgon National Park. You will have lunch in Mbale town and after you will proceed to Sipi for dinner and overnight stay at Sipi Falls Resort/Lacam Lodge
Day 5, Forest exploration or Hiking tour
After a morning breakfast, you will go for a forest exploration center trail loop site. This will offer you with views of the cool mist at Chebronefalls, Kapchorwa cave, the talking tree tour and so on. Alternatively, you can take a hike on Wanale trail loop with vertical cliffs of ridge and cascading waterfalls that make a very scenic drive. Transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Sipi Falls Resort/Lacam Lodge
Day 6, Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Early morning, you will leave Mbale and transfer to Murchison falls National Park. En route you will visit the Rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight in Masindi at Masindi Hotel
Day 7, Game Drive and Launch cruise on the Albert Nile
Have an early breakfast at 4:00am and set out to enter Murchison falls National, you will set out for the morning game drive on the Northern bank of the river. Expect to see wildlife animals such as Elephants, Lions, Buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, Oribis, bushbucks, Bohor reedbucks, hyenas, and if you are lucky, leopards. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, enjoy a 3 hour boat cruise upstream to the bottom of the Albert Nile. Look out for animals like hippos, crocodiles and a lot of bird species like goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hornbills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge /Sambiya River lodge / Red Chill Camp
Day 8, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After a morning breakfast, you will set out for your long drive to Kibale forest National Park. The journey will offer you with different views of a true Ugandan Culture especially in Hoima. En route you will pass by banana plantations and African homesteads. Have lunch in Hoima town and later continue with your journey to Fort Portal. Upon arrival in Fort portal, you will enjoy your evening as you view the stunning Rwenzori Mountains commonly referred to as “mountains of the moon”. Later transfer to Kibale Forest National Park for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp/Primates Lodge/Chimpanzee guest house
Day 9, Chimpanzee trek and afternoon Bigodi swamp walk
After breakfast at your lodge, you will go for the morning briefing from the park officials and later you will depart from the Park headquarters in Kanyanchu and go for Chimp tracking with in the forest. Expect to see a lot of primate species including the Chimps, blue monkeys, Varvet Monkeys, red tailored monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will go for the Bigodi swamp walk. This is a good site for different bird species and hence a bird watchers paradise. Return to the Lodge for refreshments with dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp/Primates Lodge/Chimpanzee guest house
Day 10, Visit the crater region
After breakfast, you will transfer to the crater region for a half day exploration. Upon reaching there, you will enjoy the view of the numerous small lakes which are surrounded by gentle hills. Also you can hike up to Lake Nkuruba to view different bird species. Have lunch and later visit the Mahoma falls where you will meet local people en route and this will give you a clear view of a true typical African Culture. Dinner and overnight stay in Fort portal at Fort Motel/Mountains of the Moon Hotel
Day 11, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start your day with a heavy cup of tea and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This journey will give you good views of the great Mountains of the moon and the Kasese town. Arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park in time for lunch after which you will go for the evening game drive to search for resident animals of the Park such as waterbucks, warthogs, elephants, buffalos, antelopes and others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge/Simba Safari Camp
Day 12, Game drive and Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Early morning before breakfast, you will set out for the game drive to catch up with the early risers. Look out for lions, buffaloes, Leopards, Hyenas, bush and water bucks and the Elephants. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, you will go for the afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Look out for animals like hippos, Crocodiles and a variety of bird. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge/Simba Safari Camp
Day 13, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park with a game drive en route in the famous Ishasha sector. This is famously known for its rare tree climbing lions and can be witnessed in fig tree. Arrive at Bwindi in the afternoon where you will relax, as you wait for your next day’s Gorilla tracking activity which is the highlight of your safari. Dinner and overnight stay at Wagtail Eco safari camp/Buhoma Community Bandas/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Resort.
Day 14, Gorilla Trekking activity:
After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing by the park ranger guides before you set off for your Gorilla trek. You will be given rules to follow while in the forest before seeing the Gorillas and also when you are with the Gorillas. The rules are there so as to continue protecting these rare species and not to let them disappear. Under normal circumstances, the Gorilla trek has no fixed time of ending since it depends on where the Gorillas spend the night the day before the trekking day. However, it ranges from 2-9 hours and this basically depends on the movement of these primates. You need to be strong and physically fit since it involves walking along steep hilly tracks and also long distances. However, once one comes across the Gorillas, all the poor memories he has gone through, are easily forgotten and instead enjoy the one hour time with the Gorillas. You can take as many photographs as you want. After this, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Wagtail Eco safari camp/Buhoma Community Bandas/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Resort.
Day 15, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale the place commonly known as the “Switzerland of Africa”. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Africa and upon reaching there you will go for the local community tour. Dinner and overnight stay at Bird nest/Bunyonyi overland resort/ Arcadia cottages/Bushara Island
Day 16, Spend the whole day at Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will go for a cultural walk on Lake Bunyonyi. Among the many villages in the area, you will Visit the Batwa village where the people known as the Pygmies are found. You will also enjoy the boat ride on the lake which will give you scenic views of the different surrounding Islands and terraced hills. Dinner and overnight stay at Bird nest/Bunyonyi overland resort/ Arcadia cottages/Bushara Island
Day 17, Transfer to Lake Mburo
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park where you will reach in time for Lunch. Have Lunch and in the afternoon, you will take a game drive in the open grasslands of the park which will offer you the opportunity to see animals like Elands, Zebras, waterbucks, Impala, Crested Crane and Buffaloes. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge/Mantana Tented Camp/Rwonyo Campsite/Arcadia cottages
Day 18, Nature walk and Boat ride
After breakfast, you will take a guided nature walk in Rubanga forest and this will reward you with views of animals like the Zebra, Eland, among others. Among the Antelopes, the African Eland is the largest and it is only at found in Lake Mburo National Park. Return back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for the boat ride on Lake Mburo where you will expect to see a number of water loving animals and birds like the sitatunga, shoebill stork and Hippos. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge/Mantana Tented Camp/Rwonyo Campsite/Arcadia cottages
Day 19, Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, drive at leisure to Kampala with an en route Game drive as you exit the Park. Reach Kampala in the afternoon and continue to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel/Ministers Village Hotel/Hotel Rutch/Imperial Royale/Cassia Lodge.
Day 20, Departure
Depending on the time of your flight, you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home. If you have an evening flight, you will first go for the Kampala City tour and visit places like the Kasubi tombs, Namugongo Martyr’s shrine, Uganda Museum and Bahai Temple.
